Teaching Your Dog "Spin"
Reverse is a basic trick that involves your dog turning around in a circle. Your dog will start by facing you, then it will do a full turn and will return standing facing you again. Thanks for the Trick!
1. Have dog in standing position.
2. Hold treat in one hand and use it to lure the dog's head toward its hind. Reward.
3. Start luring the dog all the way around to the left. Keep the treat close to the dog's hind to keep a tight circle. Reward.
4. When dog is willingly following the treat, add in cue word, "Spin Left, good Spin Left".
5. Repeat for "Spin Right".
Here are some extra tips for teaching your dog to "Your not begging are you?"
- Don't overload the dog especially on the first day. Practice this exercise for 10-15 minutes only. It should be difficult for your dog but don't give in.
- Even after the dog has mastered this technique it should be practiced regularly.
- Eventually you can try to phase out the food reward in exchange for praise.
