Teaching Your Dog "Bang"
Bang is a common trick that really shows off your dogs intelligence. You start by pointing your finger at your dog in a gun-like position. Then once you say "Bang" your dog will lie down, and then roll over; acting as if it's dead. If your dog knows "Sit, Down, and Roll Over" on command, it will make the trick easier to teach. You can also add your own twist to the trick and have your dog perform something extra. Try our more difficult optional version!

Here are some extra tips for teaching your dog "bang".
- Teach them in a place with carpet so they can comfortably roll over.
- Make sure you only use only one final command, preferably "bang," during training so you wont confuse your dog.
- This takes time and practice. Do not become irritated if your dog doesn't pick up on it quickly, be patient.
- When teaching your dog to do the half roll-over, it may have a tendency to try and stand up. Lower your hand so your dog doesn't reach that point.
- Don't spend too much time on this trick. And don't allow your dog to get bored. If your dog looses interest stop the training there.

- Your dog may begin the trick while standing or sitting.
- (Optional:) As you point your finger at your dog in a gun-like position give it the command "Beg" to lift up both paws. This will be a fun act of your dog begging. You can later add the verbal command "Stick 'em up."
- Instruct your dog into the "down" position as you say "Bang." You can do that by saying "down" as you shake your hand towards the ground as if you pulled the trigger, also hinting your dog to lay down. Slowly you can get rid of the command "down," while still gesturing with your hand, and begin saying "bang."
- After having your dog drop to the ground and lie down, you signal the "roll over" command by gesturing with your hand.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until your dog learns to get into the down position and roll over in one command, "Bang."
- (Optional:) You can say "Bang!" again and have your dog act injured even more. (Roll over while barking or whining)
