Finicky Eaters
Many dogs are naturally finicky eaters, some breeds more than others. Because of this, you should never feed your puppy from the table, if you do it will ruin its appetite for dog food and will crave human food instead. Some scraps can even harm your dogs health.
The proper amount of food is essential for a healthy puppy. A finicky eater can be underweight or even overweight depending on the amount a unhealthy food it's being given. An underweight dog can have trouble with his bone density, and his kidneys and liver and are more prone to skin infections, while an overweight dog can have heart and joint trouble.

Dealing with a Finicky Eater
Before starting to change your dogs behavior, check with your vet to rule out any health issues to avoid worsening the problem. Once you get the thumbs up, you can begin changing the behavior.
1. Offer Less Treats - A dog is more likely to eat if it's not comparing its food to a treat.
2. Feed Often - Try feeding smaller amounts three or four times a day.
3. Exercise - It's good to work up your dog's body, it brings back their natural appetite. It's also very rewarding knowing you deserve your meal.
4. Make it Positive - Always make a big deal about your dog's food. Be exited and happy when your handing your dog its food bowl.
5. Feed it Differently - Feed your dog in a quiet area or feed it at a different time in the day.
6. Mix - Mix some of the food it prefers with your dog's dog food, little by little lessen the amount of human food until your dog is just eating dog food.
